Inside The Fire Academy

This package combined video, photography and print and interactive graphics to tell the story of how students at the Miami Dade College North Campus Fire Academy go about completing their certification program to become firefighters. Mark Pulaski took all the photos in full protective gear during live-fire exercises, while Alexandra de Armas took care of doing research and worked with Akeem Brunson, Richard de la Vega and Alfred Vizcarra on producing the accompanying video. Apart from laying out the section, I took care of the rail package on the left, which consisted of a small illustrations for each major step of the certification process. Additionally, I created a breakdown graphic, which described how much each part of the protective gear used was worth, which I then converted into an interactive flash graphic.
